SIP & SWAP Sugarcane × Gotcha Matcha
Make 15. Swap 15.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 11 at 4:00 and 5:00
Come sip, make, and swap at our first Sip & Swap — a casual handmade exchange bringing together local artists, makers, creatives, and anyone who just loves making little things.
Here’s how it works:
You make 15: Create 15 small handmade items (must be 15 of the same item) to bring with you.
You bring 15: Bring your 15 creations to Sugarcane on the day of the event.
You meet 15: Each session is limited to 15 people, so you'll have the chance to meet 14 other makers.
You swap 15: You'll exchange your creations with the other participants and leave with 15 different handmade treasures — one from each person, including your own!
And because every good creative gathering needs a little something to sip, your $10 ticket includes a Gotcha Matcha drink. 🍵
No professional art experience necessary. Your creation can be simple, silly, beautiful, useful, delicious, or completely unexpected. The point is to make something you'd be excited to give to someone else.
CHOOSE YOUR CATEGORY
When you sign up, you'll choose one category for what you'll make. We’re limiting the number of people in each category so that every swap has a fun mix of different types of things.

THE RULES
1. Make 15 - You must bring 15 handmade items to participate in the swap.
Your 15 items should be the same or substantially similar. For example, 15 handmade bracelets, 15 mini paintings, 15 cookies, or 15 little ceramic pieces.
2. Make something you'd be happy to receive. Please put some thought and care into your items. They don't need to be expensive or professionally made — the fun is in receiving something another person made specifically for this event.
3. Pick one category. Choose your category when you register. Category spots are limited so we can keep each session varied.
4. Please don't bring 15 store-bought items. The spirit of Sip & Swap is handmade, homemade, and personal. Supplies and materials can absolutely be purchased — we just ask that the final item is something you've made or meaningfully created yourself.
5. Edible items are welcome! If you choose the EDIBLE category, please bring 15 individually packaged portions and include a simple ingredient/allergen list with your items.
6. Be thoughtful about size. Think small and swap-able. Your 15 creations should be reasonably easy for someone to carry home with them.
7. Everyone participates in the swap. The magic of Sip & Swap comes from everyone contributing. Please arrive with your 15 items so that everyone has something to take home.
8. Come ready to meet people! This isn't just an exchange of stuff. We'll have a little time to introduce ourselves, see what everyone made, and connect with the other people in the room.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
- Each session is limited to 15 participants.
- Your selected category is reserved for you when you register. If a category is full, please choose another available category or check the other time slot.
- Because everyone is counting on each participant to bring 15 items, please let us know as soon as possible if you can no longer attend.
- Most importantly: don't overthink it. This is about making something with your hands, sharing it with someone new, and leaving with a little collection of things made by your community.
